2. What are the benefits of having one?
Primarily a ChargeBox elevates your brand by offering a new added-value service. This can help drive footfall, retain customers for longer and increase repeat visits. 3. How much does it cost to obtain one?
There are two models:
1/ Direct sale. For sites in the UK or abroad where you would like to offer the chargebox to your customers for free or at a reduced cost or with tokens you provide. This is for sites where you wish to use the ChargeBox as an added-value service or to draw new footfall to your site. We can sell you units directly or lease them. If required we can also supply maintenance for the boxes and provision of new chargers as they hit the market for a fixed cost.
2/ Rental or revenue share. For sites in the UK only who wish to charge their customers to use a ChargeBox. Subject to a minimum usage we will provide high footfall locations chargeboxes free of charge with an incremental revenue share.
ChargeBoxes are free-standing- they do not require any fixings. Consequently they can be wheeled in and out with no inconvenience. If there are potential secutiy concerns then we are able to fix the ChargeBox to the floor.
5. Do we need any special plugs?
No- ChargeBoxes just use one standard 3-pin plug. They are plug and play and do not have any greater requirements than a toaster or kettle. For use in countries outside the UK we will provide ready to use for your plugs and currency.
6. How much does it cost to run?
The good news is mobile phones take very little energy to run. Electrical companies estimate you can charge 100 phones for one unit of electricity which is approximately 8 pence. We calculate a ChargeBox costs less to run than a 100W bulb.
7. What kind of maintenance is required?
We will fully maintain each ChargeBox 24/7 on your behalf. In fact each machine is equipped with remoter monitoring hardware which reports to our office should a fault occur.
8. What about health and safety?
Each machine has been through rigrous safety checks and tests and has been awarded the pan European CE mark. We have comprehensive public and product liability insurance for all ChargeBoxes.
The locker's design is based on hotel safes. They are made to be as secure as possible and they utilize keys that cannot be copied. In the very unlikely event that a problem did arise the user's product is covered by our insurance.
10.Why don't you use a pin system?
We used to have a pin system in our earlier designs. However these produced a number of problems 1/ the instructions were much more complicated 2/ people were nervous the machines would open up automatically and were concerned if there was a power failure 3/ people forgot their pins 4/ some people tried to guess other people's pin systems. We quickly moved the design to a key system and we have found the public have used these 40% more in the same locations than they did when we had machines using a pin system.
