We had a ChargeBox installed in our busy Children’s Emergency Department 3 months ago and have since had nothing but positive feedback about it. The reassurance of knowing that patients, parents and their families can use this facility when in crisis is a huge reassurance to all of the staff. We have previously had situations where people have needed to make urgent phone calls to update family members about an evolving situation regarding their loved one and this has not been possible as they have been unable to access phone numbers stored on their phone when the battery has emptied. On the flip side to this, the ChargeBox has also provided people with an opportunity to charge their phones whilst waiting to be seen. This allows them to keep playing games or watching entertainment that all appear to be a huge distraction from the sometimes unavoidable Emergency Department waits.
